Bula Vinaka!

Well we are in Fiji.  The flight was great – a little turbulence but the great disappointment was no individual tv screens!  The kids were very disappointed.  It wasn’t all bad – there were screens and there was a good movie showing.
We made it to Suva at 11.15am and it was lovely and hot – not too hot – just right!   We were met by Peter from OAC who put us in a taxi to take us to Coral Coast Christian Camp where we will spend most of our first week.  It took over an hour to get there but it was interesting seeing the country side and the “architecture” in Fiji.
We are in a one room hotel unit at the camp with our own kitchen so we have visited the local supermarket.  I must say I was disappointed with the fruit and vege’s – it is $F8 for a small sad looking lettuce!  Hopefully when we get back to Suva it will be better.
Peter is coming to collect us on Saturday however the camp said we must be out by Friday morning – I hope their communication improves before then!
We went for a visit to the beach and 2 camp dogs joined us.  They were very protective.  Jeremy and the kids swam while I lay and read a book.  The dogs guarded me and if anyone came within 20m they barked profusely at them!  So I feel safe and if you are wondering yes I have a flush loo!

  1. Glad you made it safe and sound. It seems like accommodation is going to be an ongoing issue!!
